Downtime – Server Moving

December 14, 2012 at 12:13 pm

Dreamhost is moving the server info to a new farm on the East coast from california, creating intermittent downtime.  They said the move would be soon, without a solid date.  This means a new server IP address, which leads to cloudflare not being smart enough to update = downtime.   Cloudflare has been disabled, and DNS is propagating – expect off and on service at slow speeds for a few hours.   Cloudflare will be re-enabled once the move is complete and things will be back to normal.

**edit**.. homepage will load slow until I get an email from dreamhost that the server move is complete and can reenable cloudflare.

Moving to the next tier of cloudflare in a few days… should have AllChans cached in more countries for faster loading/reliability soon.  This will also allow a cached menu during host downtime.. which is pretty often.  Also adding new chans tomorrow, post a reply here with requests.

Adding Cloudflare, this may cause 2 hours of downtime today while the DNS propagates. Just makes sense to use cloudflare since it will cache parts of this site all over the world for quicker load times.
