5chan

5chan is the ultimate 4chan alternative: same experience (and UI) as 4chan, but without global admins able to ban you from the whole site. Anyone can run a 5chan board, and 5chan users connect to boards purely peer-to-peer, similarly to how torrents work. 5chan itself has no servers, no admins, no owner.

#1 FAQ is “what about cp”. Well, 5chan boards are moderated independently, and the dev can hide boards (transparently; the code is fully open source). And all content is actually text-only: images are embedded from external links, such as Imgur (which is also moderated of course). Further, 5chan is not private like Tor, it’s actually non-private, like torrents, meaning the user IP address is in the p2p swarm (though they can use VPNs, just like with torrents).

Currently traffic mostly comes from their community of a few hundred active members on telegram t.me/bitsocialnet.

It works for me on 5chan android app. Maybe it’s a bug on a specific OS.

5chan is fully free and open source anyway, so if you are a dev you could fix it on GitHub and open a PR, or if you’re not a dev open an issue on GitHub as bug report.
