New Sites

Had a few addition requests from sites with almost no content. I dont usually add them because they don’t just suddenly get a community of posters by being added here, and they usually go 404 in a month or two. Here are a couple recent requests that need some content:

Also, added https://jakparty.soy to the directory. This site seems very popular.

AiChan – Dead

This one is a little different so I’m making a post on it. It is more of a proof of concept, testing kind of site. AiChan is running off wordpress instead of typical image board software. With some modification using only off the shelf plugins, it has been setup with front end anonymous posting and anon commenting. I would say some of the benefits to using wordpress is that:
1. Easy to install for noobs
2. Can easily force post moderation before posts go live to prevent spam.
3. Email notification of a new post/comment to help with moderation
4. Lots of options for optimization – easy to use a CDN for images

AiChan is running on a $10/mo VPS.
The following plugins are needed:
– Elementor Pro for the posts block with pagination. (There are tons of alternatives with posts blocks and pagination – most are not free)
– USP Pro – this is a paid plugin but allows the front end posting form. The free version will allow for 1 form, but multiple boards requires Pro
– Akismet – filters comment spam
– DCO Comment Attachment – allows images to be added in post comments
Optional:
– Display Featured Image In Post List – helps with moderation – allows you to see image when approving posts in the wordpress backend.
– Autoremove Attachments – when a post is deleted, it will clean up the images from the media library.
– Advanced Comment Form – lets you remove some of the irrelevant text on the comment form
– WPMail SMTP – allows email notification of new posts/comments
– EWWW Image Optimizer – creates webp versions of pictures and hosts them on a CDN
– Astra Theme works well to pick a template/starting point

Site removed 2-11-24 – up for 2 months and only 1 non-spam post.. nice…

ComfyChan

ComfyChan, (formerly Classichan) provides the classic 4chan experience. Comfychab was born in early may this year when a couple anons were talking about making a new altchan. People missed the 4chan of old, and were getting tired of shadowy mods and politics/coomers on modern 4chan. It got too serious for something that started as a little anime website.

Comfychan is an altchan where politics and pron are banned, where posts are removed and people are temp banned instead of perma banned (because smaller community=more manageable), and which has a far more pleasant and interesting community reminiscent of an older era of 4chan, when it was just anime girls insulting everyone instead of some political/horny [crap]hole. It has an approach of quantity<quality when it comes to community building, so it doesn’t try to have a bigger community than 4chan, but instead a better one

Hivechan – Dead

Hivemind of Anonymous free speech, where truth does not fear investigation, and without compromised administration. On Hivechan.com you can create your own board for free, with no experience or programming knowledge needed, and as with all other imageboards, no need for accounts, names, passwords, or email to regularly post.

It’s most important board, is the /sig/ one, tied to the /sig/up community of Telegram, which is lead by the owner of https://sigup.net, a site dedicated to self-improvement, hence the name sig, which comes from Self Improvement General threads that used to be on 4chan. Originally, sigup had its own imageboard called sigchan which was linked on AllChans, but it was shut down. Hive will have a board to serve as the new home of /sig/ anons, primarily those from sigchan. It is a place for anyone to make a board, in particular political ones.

voidchan – dead

voidchan started out as a splinterchan from Ponychan back in August of 2021 after the removal of the “/ef/” board which was ponychan’s ‘almost anything goes’ sort of board however has since mostly severed ties with its point of origin.

It has a small but dedicated community, a (vanilla) minecraft server (which allows crossplay between Java and Bedrock Edition) and occasional (hopefully more frequent in the future) game-nights (jackbox, gartic phone, vrchat, etc).

Unlike a lot of altchans trying to abide to the “/a/ /b/ /pol/ etc” board standard the community is more laid out based on posting style than posting subject with /void/ being the flagship board and /null/ being an anon posting board as well as a board for planning community events and several hidden boards with the site having an overall space/afterlife stylistic theme to it.

Political posting is not “contained” and moderation is very light-handed save for a few key rules so edgy posting is allowed and unlike a lot of ‘edgy’ chans most of the core community (comprising of weebs, nerds, ex-bronies, etc) is very LGBT-friendly despite no rules against homophobic/transphobic posting.

The site is built on (Circle Puller) Tinyboard(vichan basically) with some custom QoL upgrades and is a comfy place to fun-post for folks who don’t take it all too seriously.

7chan

7Chan is mostly a clone of 4chan that has been around since 2005. It became a 4chan alternative around 2006 when traffic spiked due to raid banning on 4chan.
